What is your purpose in life? What drives you to reach your purpose? What if we don’t reach our purpose? How would we then find satisfaction in living?
The Hunt.

The theory of The Hunt is brought on by tons of people. Its this idea that we don’t actual strive in the moment, but rather are constantly striving for the moments after. So in similar terms always working for our future but never coming to the actual satisfaction that we have made it there because were too busy thinking about what is to come in a even further future.
Complicated… I know, but just bare with me as I explore this weird concept that shows a new abstract form of life.
For example imagine a young boy dreaming of the day he is going to be living it up in high school, but when high school approaches he can’t enjoy it because his hopes were too high. So he decided to just get through the rest of high school thinking about how good life will be once he is graduated and on his way to becoming a father of his own family. And when that day approaches he feels too much pressure so he just tries his best and fulfills his duties so that way he can sit back and enjoy retirement with his grandchildren someday.
And I know what your thinking…”uh duh thats why you just live in the moment” or “Just YOLO it”. But that’s a total irrationally way of thinking about this. Think about what would actualy happen if you just YOLOed it all day everyday. You would eventually end up homeless with nothing to live for. My point is is that we are always having to do things that we necessarily dont want to do but do them because we all have a goal or are trying to make purpose out of ourselves.

It makes life seem like a never ending path, and even if that path is a enjoyable one you are aiming for something better so it always seems just under the benchmark. Or this might just be my hometowned;small brained;never-moved-from-the-same-town-in-my-whole-life self thinking this. But I know others have the same thoughts so…..

I feel like this is a good representation of just how deceiving all of our brains are and how the mind works. We are trying to live for something, but what??? Is this why we keep going? To try and find and fulfill the void these questions created? Why am I doing all the things I am doing?? And at what point do I decide what is good enough?
And while this is a short explanation to a broad and huge concept I bet you’ll catch yourself or someone around you being a prime example or asset to this theory.

I loved Edward Scissorhands growing up. This is an interesting theory, and I’ll have to think about it. Thanks for…
